For easy serviceability and tweaking, the Purple discrete opamps can be replaced
with any standard discrete opamp or a DIP-8 IC. The output amp stages in the Cans are
modular, but cannot be replaced with any other opamp.

- I was quite surprised at the clarity and detail as well as the sheer horsepower the Cans headphone amp could supply!! We're in the process of changing out the McIntosh power amps we use in our cue system for the Purple Cans... and I think in the long run the clients will be quite pleased with the system, while we'll save a significant amount of space, power, patching, and agita!!!
